Electre Selecteh publishes a monthly selection of new social electronic music by artists in the Fediverse that (full disclosure) icaria36 found most exciting.
Most of this music makes it to the Electre Selecteh radio station on The Indie Beat.
What kind of electronic music? Music totally or partially created with electronic instruments. It needs to sound electronic and have a tum tum heartbeat. From synth-pop with vocals to quite abstract techno, from fast breaks to downtempo (but no ambient).
How new? Released last month. Exceptions missed from the previous month are ok.
What does "social" mean here? It means that all the music selected has been distributed through fair platforms – see About Selecteh.
What is the Fediverse? It's a federation of independent social networks, the most popular of which is Mastodon (mistressfully explained by JenJen in a 4 minute video).
Why only artists in fair music platforms and in the Fediverse? We want to promote the brave artists contributing to social alternatives free from monopolistic corporations and algorithms. Newcomers are super-welcome!
Who is icaria36? Nobody really but I put time and love listening to new social music and publishing Electre Selecteh every month.
Can we send music recommendations? Yes, please! Just send a Fediverse post to @electre@electre.selecteh.org. You can suggest your own music or the music of any artists you like. I can follow new releases on Mirlo and Bandwagon thanks to their RSS feeds but it is more difficult to know about music released in other fair platforms or self-published.
Is it a coincidence that Electre Selecteh has so many "e"s? Not at all. I don't take myself and this publication too seriously, and I like when people smile. Try reading "Electre Selecteh" out loud without smiling.
You can get Electre Selecte via email (subscribe) and / or on the Fediverse. This is a volunteer project, free, no ads, no pesky use of your data, and part of Selecteh.
